Building Strength

Yesterday afternoon, after having had some lunch, I started to feel better. I picked up my laptop and began reading blogs. Well once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. I just got so drawn in to people's stories ... I think it is a bit healing for me. Before I knew it ... it was time to go to bed.

But before going to sleep I took an Ativan. Ativan helps me with the transition from my disruptive sleeps caused by the steroids ... to a normal relaxed sleep. I may take one more tonight but I expect that should do it.

This morning I was off for the weekly PICC line dressing change. Everything continues to look good around that PICC line.

Generally, I am feeling better ... I just need to build strength ... I think a nap might be in order.

I just caught up on your blog. Visualization of something I love always helped me. I am hoping the days ahead will be "normal" for you. Oh, how I love normal. Thinking of you everyday, Angela Clarno

Hey Daria!

Thanks for commenting my blog. I'm glad to come across you, and will be praying for your journey as I pray for mine. I have to take ativan to get a good night's sleep too, so I don't think you should be hard on yourself about that. At least that's what my oncologist and massage therapist tell me. You need good rest to fight and heal, so be good to yourself and give grace, and ativan, if needed while you are in treatment. I am done with the "bad" chemo and just on the herceptin/steroid cocktail, but still need help shutting down and most importantly sleeping restfully through the night. My hub notices my restlessness when I don't take it.

Cheers,
Joules

Rest whenever you need to, Daria...I found that helped so much in my case. I had to just sit down and not feel guilty for doing so LOL Glad things are looking good around the PICC line!

Hugs to you,
Michelle

Did you have a nice sleep dear friend. I slept every afternoon for about 3 hours while I was on taxotere.

And little naps all over the place at other times, if there was a chiar or table or bed, I would either sit on it or lay on it.

Love you dear friend.

Hi Daria,
I hope you're feeling better today!?
Today is 4 weeks from my surgery.

Could you or your fellow bloggers help me...
I'm looking for a correct word
(or is this it?) 'hardened lymph drain or vein'.
I've got one and I'd like to write about it on my blog but I need a correct way to say that...
That's like a vein which is too short and it tightens, it's difficult to stretch my hand above the head to the other side...

Thank you if you or your friends can help me! :)
