Daria Rests Comfortably

Daria is resting comfortably but is slowly losing touch. We are waiting for an opening at hospice care about a block away from the hospital. The caregivers say that should happen around Wednesday of next week.

Don, I am in a total state of shock and denial. Daria has been such a huge mentor to me and I have always envisioned her as a super woman. She is to me a guardian angel. I hope you know that despite this sad news that having believed so much in Daria's kind words of support I will continue to grasp at hope and pray for you both. Hugs to you both...

Don,
I am so sorry ton hear this news. I gather the procedure on Monday didn't accomplish what they thought it was supposed to.

Please know that my thoughts are with her and with you at this time. I don't think her mind is ready to go, but perhaps her body has had enough. Please let her know how much I admire her and her fighting spirit as well as her strength and will to live. She has been an example, a model, cor many of out here in Cancer Land. She will be missed . . . I don't want to write as if she is going to die soon for that reason. But if it is time, then I want to wish her well and to let her know that we won't forget her.
Take care - give her a hug for me,
Dee

You are both in my thoughts. I wish you comfort.
I've been reading Daria's blog for a long time now and found it so helpful when I went through my own breast cancer battle. Daria--i hope you know how much you've touched people with your kindness and grace.

Hi Daria,
It has been along time. I worked with you in HR at Northlands, remember me?! :)

I read your blog, and you are amazing. Your words are inspiring and insightful. You are blessed, and you have helped many people by sharing this journey. My prayers are with you, and I hope you are comfortable.

I am so sorry cancer has found its way to you. I have never hated anything in my life - except cancer. Thank you for bringing attention to this important issue. Voices are powerful. And I believe the battle will be won eventually.

I remember you once told me that you LOVED the song "Simply the Best' by Tina Turner! Can you believe I remember that? Anyway, the odd time I have heard it I think of you. I think the last time I saw you was in 2007 when you brought a baby gift for my little guy. I remember thinking how thoughtful that was because you had already left NL by then. You remembered me then, and I am thinking of you now. God Bless.

Thank you for the update, Don.
I've been checking on and off all day.
Hospice is a wonderful organization. They will be such a comfort to Daria, as well as for you.
I'm glad to hear that Daria is resting. My prayer is that she rest comfortably, and run into the arms of our Saviour. She has certainly been an inspiration to many of us. God Bless!

So very sorry to hear this. Daria has provided such informative information to all of us, she has encouraged us on our difficult days and she has been such a brave and courageous Warrior for cancer patients. We need only to look at her Followers and the number of hits she has had on her blog and that says it all.
Sending my thoughts and prayers to Daria, Don and family....may you all find the strength you need during this difficult time. God Bless!

I see that Daria has another blog, called Finding Meaning, on which she last posted in June last year. That, and her daily pics (last one in September last year - there's a link on this page, on the right), gives one even more insight into this amazing person. Daria, everyone is thinking of you - all the comments from all over the world. You have touched us. Thank you.
