I tell ya ... I have no memory left ... chemo has taken over my memory. I just keep forgetting things. I think it bothers me so much because in my other life, I was pretty organized ... O.K. annoyingly organized.
So yesterday, I started writing everything down and I mean everything. There are going to be reminder notes for everything. I've got reminders to go to my patient support group this afternoon, to go to school in the evening plus bring my laptop to class (because I don't normally) and take my medication in the evening.
I even have a reminder to make reminders for the next day. I've decided this will ease some of the stress in my life. Somewhere along the way things have gotten out of control. I think I was letting cancer get the upper hand here and slowly letting go ... well I`m fighting back ... I need some of that control back.
Today I had my PICC line redressed with adhesive bandages ... no more dry dressing. Things are looking good. As nice as the nurses are ... they said they didn`t want to see me till next week. I don`t feel offended ... I`d rather not see them till next week either :) .
In the mean time, this is my good week so I am planning to get out and about as much as possible.
Hope everyone is having a good day!

Wishing you a wonderful week with some nice stuff in it, just for you :)

Glad you're taking control, my friend! I was ready to remind you to go to class tonight. I hope you don't do like me and forget where you put all the reminders!
Chemo brain! That's me, every day, so I can completely understand where you're coming from. I'm still sort of in denial that it's happening...when I get to get back to my normal life I have a small notebook all ready to jot everything down.
Enjoy your week!
Great to see that quirkly sense of humour coming through. So glad you are feeling better.
See you soon.
Chemo fog was awful. When I started coming back to myself after chemo, I was surprised at how much of the winter went by in a fog. I still have to make reminders, but I am thrilled that I have reached the point where I am remembering to make reminders...
GOOD! Great to hear that you are taking it back! I think that reminder notes are an excellent strategy! Hope group went well. Talk soon!
I'm glad you found a way to ease your distress about your memory. You should see my office - sticky notes everywhere and then piles of paper that all relate to something I need to do. Piles of file folders relating to various projects that are in different stages of being finished. It's crazy. I have an appointment book, a "to-do" list for work, a spreadsheet with all my passwords, a system on email that I use to keep track of the bills that I pay online, etc. I don't think I'm on top of everything . . . I have 3,000 messages in my work email that says I'm not. Anyway, good for you to write yourself reminders!
I hope you have a great day, too!
Having a sense of control in life is vitally important, especially when so much of what you once controlled has been taken out of your hands.
Glad you're having a good week!
I was warned about the chemo brain and at the time I though oh my gawd I'm going to be in trouble, because I have trouble remembering now. Well, the warning was right, there's chemo brain fog everywhere!!! LOL
Hey I hope you have a wonderful week and that the weather will be brilliant for you to get out!

Chemo has meddled with my memory too. Writing things down is a good thing, lists. I have started to use my filofax more.
Sad though, before cancer my filofax was choc o bloc with appointments etc now its empty apart from hospital appts, makes me sad
Forgetful Daria? & no memory left....You should start on a more positive note. Reminding ourselves how forgetful we are will just make the matter worse.
To help in some of my memory works, i use a scheduler & "to do list" in my handphone, they are quite handy too.
