Sporting A Hat

I’ve been complaining about my wig for quite a while. It’s itchy and annoying. Well on Wednesday when I was getting my chemo, I was just fed up with it ... it kept shifting on my head and getting messed up. By the time I left I was so grumpy that I decided to stop at the store at the clinic and buy me a hat.

Thursday I went out and about taking care of some errands and stuff and guess what ... I wore the hat instead of a wig. I felt so liberated and comfortable. I will continue to wear that wig on certain occasions but people don’t be surprised if you see me sporting a hat more often.

Amazing how liberating it is..isn't it. I had a wig to and its was itchy hot and just hated wearing it when it was hot out. If your comfortable go for it!

Good for you! I gave up on my wig, a rather nice looking one, last winter. Actually the only place I wore it was to church. Then I switched to a soft scarf under a pretty hat. And now that I have puppy fur atop my head, I'm going bare wherever I go. It is so liberating to do that.

Picture? We need a picture of this new hat. Just think you can start a whole collection and then you can chose whichever one suits your mood that day. And you can change them by adding scarves and so on. Every Friday you could post a picture of the latest hat.

I do think that you are definitely someone who can wear a hat and look great.

Yes let your head air out!! I wear my wig occasionally but yes it is so free to just wear a hat. Sometimes I just tie my head with a scarf. And once I get some fuzz back I will probably attempt to go bare! Lets see how bold I can get.

Good for you Daria. There are many cute hats out there and even sporting a ball cap is fashionable these days.

What a great move! I am all for minimizing the annoyance of chemo.

I wear my wig at work (but like nowhere else) because I noticed my coworkers seem a little freaked out by a scarf or hat because then the chemo is right in their faces Or maybe it is just me projecting! God only knows.

Good for you, Daria! I didn't even go to the effort of buying a wig. I made do with hats. Tried scarves, but they didn't look good with my face. Loved the hats. Much more comfortable!
