Update on how I’m Feeling

So I thought I better do an update on how I’m feeling outside the clinical trial side effects. For the last couple of weeks I’ve been struggling with what I think are environmental allergies. It started out with wheezing during the night which I’m treating with a nightly dose of Benadryl.

I don’t wheeze anymore but during the day, my chest feels so full. I cough and later have some shortness of breath. I find this especially when laying down or getting up from a laying down position. I’ve coughed so much I’m hoarse. My nose is a bit stuffy and my head feels a bit headachy.

I’ve also been experiencing the chills. This started a couple of days after getting my flu shot last week. I’m not too worried about this because my temperature remains normal.

Other than that … there is fatigue. I really have to plan and monitor my activity so I don’t over tire myself. If I do, I easily become emotional, anxious and nauseous.

Those exact symptoms knocked me off my feet literally but became worse enough i had to have breathing equipment here at home and was in the hospital a couple times..then there was the antibiotics they had to change 3 times. It was horrible and exhausting. I'm on the mend but its slow!!! Feel better!!!

Daria;

I've been reading along and am so glad that you were able to get on this clinical trial.
You inspire me everyday.
You are one strong gal!

I'm sure you have spoken to your doctor about this Daria, it sounds like a bad cold but you shouldn't take any chances....perhaps you need an antibiotic as well. Keep well and if I can be of any help please don't hesitate to let me know......:-) Hugs

Glad you're part of the clinical trial. Too bad you have to even change your blogging schedule, but once again, we must adapt, right? Keep taking it easy when you get the chance and don't over schedule. Good luck with everything.

You've been dealing with doctors long enough to know not to wait too long with something such as this lung issue. Be pre-emptive!
Blessings!

Daria, I'm sorry you're not feeling better! Can you figure out what you might be allergic to at home? When you're immune system is compromised, you will be more prone to coughing and such. Anyway, I'm thinking of you and sending you energy!

Hi Dee, I think I've struggled during the fall for the past 3 years ... since I've been on treatment.

You are right ... because the immune system is compromised ... side effects are inflated.

Daria....so sad to hear you're feeling crappy. I have to echo the thoughts of everyone who has suggested seeing a doc re: your lungs/cough. In our "condition" we have to be extremely careful. You may think it's only allergies but you should definitely get it checked out. The home care nurse was here to check on me today and one of the first questions she asked was if I have a cough. They do NOT want us having that symptom so please get it checked. I started on oxygen here at home last week and it's really helping me a LOT. Maybe that's all you need?!

Take care of yourself. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.

Like everyone else who has commented here, I really hope that you get over this soon. I think the chills symptom is significant. You are so run down that your body can't keep up with it all. I think your resting is going to be really helpful.
