CT Scan Do-Over

I had a CT scan on Friday and all when well except that I forgot to fast in the morning. I called and the receptionist and she said to come in anyway. Mid afternoon, after it was all done, I was feeling like everything was going to end up ok.

But noper - I got an email late in the day from my trials nurse telling me I have to do-over my CT scan next week. Darn it; I sort of suspected that they’d want a perfect scan because of the clinical trial drug I’m on. They’re more particular about what they want and how they get it.

I’m quite annoyed with myself for screwing this up. Trying to think back on what I could have done different. All I can say is that it’s been a busy week for me and I truly thought I had nothing scheduled after Thursday … obviously I was wrong.

So now I’m gonna put notes all over the house reminding me that I need to fast the morning of my scan. Hope that helps this silly brain of mine to remember. I sometimes think I could sure use a personal assistant to help me stay on track with appointments and meds and such.

Go with the flow Daria, things happen this way for a reason, we just dont know what that reason is. xx

Maybe it's a good sign that you forgot--maybe your brain took a break from all of this "cancer stuff," and that's got to be good, right? I forgot my nausea meds on the morning of my last chemo and we had to turn around and go home for them (making me about an hour late). I remember thinking how odd it was to be that "relaxed" about it compared to the beginning. Well, that's my attempt at a positive spin for you. All the best to you.

Can you set the calendar on your computer to send you an appointment notice. I have mine set to send me an e-mail the day before and the day of my appointments. I was forgetting to many things, thankfully the memory returned but I still keep the calendar up. Its okay Daria, everyone forgets once in a while and you are having it redone next week......:-) Hugs

Hey enjoy the football game tomorrow, downtown is crazy!

Hi Bernie, I just set up the email thingy for the day before. It's a great idea.

Wow! Can 2 pieces of toast really make a difference? I know we fast for some bloodwork and scans, but never realized it could cause a do-over.

I have CTs sheduled in two weeks just for a check up which is usually just head and neck, but I've had some severe abdonimal pain lately so the might do more.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving and pray your scans are clean.

Peace B
