Remembering To Drink Water

As per the oncologist, I have to drink more water during the day to help flush the Xeloda out of my system. How am I going to remember to drink eight glasses of water when I can't remember what I did five minutes ago?

Well I read about this little trick. It said to put a tiny container and eight pennies by the kitchen sink ... as I drink a glass of water I toss a penny into the container. With any luck, by the end of the day, there should be eight pennies in the container. The next day just empty the container and start all over. I've actually used this little trick before and it has worked for me.

Well I'm off to drink another glass of water ... hopefully; I won't get distracted on the way there.

I, too, need a reminder. Love the penny idea! I keep a quart pitcher on the counter, filling it twice during the day. A quart fruit jar works as well.

Good luck with the water trick! That is a lot of water to drink, but I know that you can do it. :)

That's GREAT.. and I totally understand.. when a commercial comes on TV..by the time they are half over..I can't remember what
I was watching
TRUE STORY

and you know water helps us feel full too, so we don't snack as much.

As long as you can remember what the pennies mean.

Me, I'd be standing there for hours wondering what all these pennies were doing lined up! LOL

What a good idea! Does Mountain Dew count for water?. LOL. Hope you are doing well, my friend.

Wow. That is really a clever idea. I'm trying to drink more water just to cut down on eating.

I had a hard time. Water tasted bad to most of the time. Sometimes I was too lazy to get off the couch and do it. I'm sure I didn't drink as much as I should have.

Keep in the fridge a container that holds the amount you need to drink each day. Make sure it's empty by dinner (give yourself some down time so you're not up all night in the bathroom).
I had to do this when I was dieting. And I SHOULD be doing the same right now.

Hope all is going well for you.

I hope the penny thing works! I tried that too...it worked for a while until I started to forget what the pennies were for.

I also can now barely tolerate the taste of water. I forced myself to drink it when I was really sick, so now I'm not too thrilled about it anymore. I use Crystal Light packets...just a thought for ya.
